Summer academy is now open to players Years 3–8 who played for Somerville in the 2024 season. Please follow the link below to register your interest. No payment required until your spot has been confirmed.
NOTE
Participants will be formed into groups based on ability, skills will be appropriate for the level of each group with the focus on basic skills across the entire group.
Years 3 & 4
8.30am – 10.00am

Expansion on Basic Skills
Passing | Hit forehand, push, flick
Receiving | Upright forehand, flat forehand
Carrying Ball | Open carry, Indian dribble
Fun Games
Years 5-8
8.30am – 10.00am

Advanced Skill Set
Passing | Hit forehand, & reverse upright, push & hit on the run
Receiving | Upright forehand & reverse, flat forehand & reverse, protecting the ball on receipt, positioning to make next pass
Carrying Ball | Open carry, Indian dribble, elimination skills
Goal Shooting | Forehand, 2 hand slap, deflections
Advanced Skills | Overheads, slap, hook spin, shooting at different heights, 3D skills
