    Derby Day is here!

    Join us for our annual showdown between Somerville and Southern — a day packed with great hockey, club spirit, and sideline support.

    Kolmar Hockey Turf, Papatoetoe, starting from 12pm.

    After the final whistle, everyone is welcome back to the clubrooms to relax, celebrate the day.

  • NZ Masters National Tournament

    4TH MARCH 2026
    Somerville had a record number of players (39) competing in the National Masters tournament this year, held at North Harbour from the 22nd - 28th February 2026.

    Overall there are 112 team playing from across the country, up from last year’s 94 teams. Next years tournament will be hosted in Christchurch.

    Congratulations to all the players selected to play for their region.

    Hockey New Zealand have also announced the World Cup Masters teams heading to Belgium and the Netherlands this July & August.

    Selections took place at the National Masters tournament and we are extremely proud that Chetan Chhita (our dedicated Vice Presient), Ric Knight, Jocelyn Murphy and Irene Ryan are all heading to Europe to represent New Zealand. Congratulations to you all.

  • This years reps for BlackSticks & NZA's

    10TH JANUARY 2026
    We’re proud to announce the talented Grace O’Hanlon and Liz Thompson have been named for this year Blacksticks Squad and have contracts for the 2026 season.

    Also wearing the black shirt is Lucy Bannatyne, Breana Catley, Rose Tynan, who are playing for the New Zeaalnd A’s at the Women’s Summer Hockey Series in Dunedin from the 21st - 25th January. A four team tournament at Alexander McMillan Hockey Centre, featuring the Vantage Black Sticks Women, New Zealand A, Japan, and the USA.

  • Auckland Hockey Awards 2024/25

    The AHA Awards were held on the 28th November, and we are proud to receive 16 awards for our dedicated and talented members.

    These included long service awards, volunteer awards and also top performance awards. Some of those were Top Club of the Year for 2025 and Women’s Club of the Year for 2024 and 2025.

  • We farewell Mauch, a beloved Life Member

    9TH DECEMBER 2025
    It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Life Member, Maureen Archibald. Who passed away on over the weekend.

    Adhering to her wishes, there will be no funeral, there is a private cremation.

    The Somerville club sends our love and deepest sympathy for the Archibald family.

    Congratulations John and Abbie. You are both the heartbeat of our club, and embody the values, dedication and community spirit that make Somerville a home for all hockey lovers.

  • Senior club celebrate the 2025 season

    24TH AUGUST 2025
    On Friday the Senior club came together at Sorrento’s in Cornwall Park to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of the 2025 season.

    Doors opened at 6pm, starting with the teams awards at 7pm, breaking for dinner half way through, then finishing with the club awards. The dance opened once the formalities finished, that saw endless requests for DJ Raj, and some interesting dance moves.

    Congratulations everyone, and well done on a great season. Hope to see you all next year.

  • Proposed new Constitution

    3RD JULY 2025
    Somerville is required to adopt, at a General Meeting, a new Constitution that is compliant with the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022. 

    The Management Committee (through the Constitution Working Group) has been working on this for a couple of years, and we now have a draft to share with you and on which we invite your feedback. 

    We look forward to your feedback as we look to bring this vital piece of work to a conclusion.
