Celebrating the life of
Maureen Archibald
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Life Member, Maureen Archibald, who left us on the weekend. Mauch was a cherished member of the Somerville Club, dedicating many years of service, friendship, and support to our community. Her contributions and presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
During this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences, love, and deepest sympathy to the Archibald family, friends, and loved ones. May her legacy live on in the memories we share and the lives she has touched.
Life Member
ELECTED 1989
Maureen is one of a few non-playing members of the Club to be honoured as a Life Member. She has been a conscientious and quiet contributor to both social and fundraising efforts of the Club over many years. Together, Mauch and late husband Eric must be Auckland’s and New Zealand’s best known and most committed hockey supporters and spectators.
They were jointly honoured with a Gold Medal for special service to Hockey by Hockey New Zealand in 2006. Mauch is the mother of Jeffrey and grandmother of Ryan and is a well-loved and respected member of the “Somerville Hockey Family”.
